RESOLUTION #2016-109
APPROVE HERITAGE CELEBRATION EVENTS, PARKING RESTRICTIONS AND
STREET CLOSURES
WHEREAS, the Faribault Community Celebration is sponsoring multiple
community events June 11-18, 2016, and;
WHEREAS, the Faribault City Council is supportive of these events, and
WHEREAS, Section 15-57 of the Faribault Code of Ordinances provides for
temporary parking restrictions by means of Council resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF FARIBAULT RESOLVES:
Section 1. That "No Parking" will be posted on Second Avenue between
North Alexander Park and 6th Street NW and on 6th Street NW between Second
Avenue and 5t1 Avenue NW between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on June
18, 2016, for the Heritage Celebration parade.
Section 2. Fifth Street NW between Second and Third Avenues shall be
closed June 12 -20, 2016, to allow use by the Celebration for carnival rides.
Section 3. Third Street SW from 6th Avenue SW to 8th Avenue SW, 7111
Avenue SW from Third Street SW to First Street SW and Second Street SW from 6th
Avenue SW to 811 Avenue SW will be closed June 11, 2016, from 8:00 AM to 11:30
AM for Box Car Races practice day. These streets will also be closed on June 18,
2016, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the Box Car Races. The race will be
rescheduled in case of inclement weather.
Section 4. A portion of Central Avenue between 4th Street SW and Th Street
SW shall be closed on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the Mini
Tractor Pull.
Section 5. Teepee Tonka Park will be closed on Sunday June 12 from 6:00
AM to 4:00 PM for the Classic Car show.
Section 6. The Heritage Celebration has permission to use Central Park
from June 11 through June 20, 2016.
