Alexander Park Background: In June of 2010 the restrooms at North Alexander Park were severely vandalized. Due to staffing shortages we were not able to determine what would be needed and get quotes until now. We are looking at adding automatic door closures so the facility will automatically be locked at night. We are also adding stainless steel fixtures with automatic flushers and a vent system to move the air as well as new lighting. We were originally looking to put a new surface on the floor but found out during the process that a new cement floor was cheaper then repairing and adding a new surface. Low proposal with all alternates is from Healy Construction of Faribault for $43,500.00. Since this was a vandalism damage project the repairs will be paid mostly from the City insurance account with the door replacement coming from the Parks general maintenance budget.
