Res 2011-073 Purchase of Community Service Vehicle7A < Cityof 4 6> Far i blault "W Request for Council Action TO: Mayor and City Council THROUGH: Chuck Whiting, City Administrator FROM: Daniel Collins, Chief of Police MEETING DATE: May 10, 2011 SUBJECT: Resolution 2011 -073 Approve Purchase of Community Service Vehicle Background: In the 2011 Capital Improvement Plan budget the replacement of the Community Service truck is identified. We now have to step up the replacement process for this truck after it was involved in a crash on April 27, 2011. The truck sustained substantial damage to the front end /engine compartment. While the truck will be repaired and transferred to a different city department, we are moving forward its replacement. Different vendors identified in the State bid have been contacted for both vehicles and toppers. At this time we are still waiting on information from the different vendors on the availability of both different manufactures /models of vehicles and the costs of toppers for these vehicles. This information will be presented to the Council when it is made available to us. Recommendation: Attachments:
